Sawyer

Sawyer is a sweet young man diagnosed with Angelman's Syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. Sawyer's mom reached out to BBF for financial assistance during a particularly difficult time for their family. We were also able to provide Sawyer with a special WWE-themed birthday party, as he loves all things wrestling! Listen to Sawyer's mom describe how BBF was able to support their amazing family.

Noah

Noah is a 2-year-old from Charlotte, NC. He experienced a perinatal stroke, which is a stroke that happens between 20 weeks gestation and 28 days old. Due to this, Noah has hemiplegia, which is muscle weakness or partial paralysis on one side of the body, and cerebral palsy.
Noah’s mom reached out to BBF for support with funding a physical therapy intensive.
She explained that, “Noah is currently delayed in mobility (only army crawling); [he] uses a gait trainer and has difficulty using his right hand.”

Noah’s diagnosis was only discovered when he was 7 months old, so since then he and his family have been in multiple PT and OT intensives to help improve his mobility. See video below of Noah working hard in his PT intensive!

Ellis

Ellis' family reached out to BBF for support with purchasing a "tomato chair". Tomato chairs are a type of specialized, adaptive seating formulated to allow children to sit comfortably for longer periods of time. They can help provide upper body and trunk support and help with optimal positioning for children with increased or decreased muscle tone.
